During the early morning hours of August 27, a rocket was launched at southern Israel from the Gaza Strip. The rocket landed in the Eshkol Regional Council. No injuries or damage were reported.

In response, the Israeli Air Force targeted a Hamas weapons manufacturing facility located in the central Gaza Strip.

“The rocket attacks emanating from the Gaza Strip put Israeli civilians in harm’s way and endanger entire communities. The IDF does not tolerate any attempt to undermine the security of southern Israel,” explains IDF Spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner “The Hamas terror organization is responsible for today’s attack against Israel.”

Since January 2015, 8 rockets have been fired at Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip under Hamas’ watch.
