The Jewish community of Mir, Poland was a vibrant, thriving epicenter filled with traditions and family.
At the onslaught of World War II, however, Mir’s inhabitants faced immense aggression. By the middle of August 1942, most of the Jewish citizens of Mir had been killed by mass execution.
To honor those lost lives, Yad Vashem put together a special memorial exhibit recently, titled, “The Story of the Jewish Community of Mir.”
The exhibit, which can also be viewed online, pulled together dozens of engaging photos, imagery that represents the vivacious Jewish community that has not been forgotten.
