According to a post that Israeli designer Danit Peleg wrote on her own Facebook page, Peleg and her 3D-printed clothes collection will appear on model and television personality Tyra Banks’s new talk show, “FABLife” or “Tyra Presents FABLife” on October 12.

Dan Penguine, Peleg’s boyfriend and unofficial press agent, explained that Banks contacted Peleg back in September “when the whole story blew up” over the 3D-printed items in her collection, he said.

Peleg originally produced an initial, five-piece collection for her final project as a student at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design, where she worked on the pieces over the course of a year. Although Peleg did not win the school prize for best final project, a video made about Peleg’s five-piece collection began getting tons of views as people were in awe of the rubbery, dishwasher-safe articles of clothing.

Peleg’s project was a test to see whether or not it is possible to make wearable clothing using home 3D printers rather than industrial 3D printers.

Peleg’s collection was featured in most major news sources, including The New York Times and Wall Street Journal, in addition to the just as important celebrity outlets, like Kylie Jenner’s blog.

According to Penguine, this was when Tyra Banks, who is always on the lookout for the next big thing, got in touch with Peleg.

FAB, which stands for “Fun And Beautiful,” is a daily talk show about fashion, food tips, and celebrity gossip hosted by Banks, model and food writer Chrissy Teigen, who is married to singer John Legend, fashionista Joe Zee, interior designer Lauren Makk, and DIY YouTube celebrity Leah Ashley.

Penguine said that the show flew Peleg out to Los Angeles for a six-minute segment that includes an interview and a runway show of Peleg’s collection.

“Chrissy Teigen loved it,” Penguine said.
