Soccer players with the Israeli Football Players Organization launched a campaign on Tuesday entitled “One World One Ball.” The project produced a video where Jewish, Muslim and Christian Israeli football players call to leave politics out of sports.
The campaign is part of a joint effort by the Israeli Football Association and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed at convincing FIFA to reject the proposal by the Palestinian Football Association to expel Israel from the organization.
On March 30th, the Palestinian association officially filed a request to FIFA demanding it to suspend Israel from the organization. The resolution will be voted on during the FIFA congress which will take place on June 29th. However, a two thirds majority is needed to pass the resolution, and insiders say it is unlikely to pass.
