There were already plenty of reasons to love Jason Bateman: his role as the long-suffering good son on “Arrested Development,” the nuance of his unhappily married dad-to-be character in “Juno,” and just the fact that he’s awesome and hilarious.
Add to this that he was able to keep up with one of the Jewiest Jews around, Jon Stewart, and he’s our new favorite gentile.
Bateman was a guest on “The Daily Show,” promoting his new film “Bad Words,” and revealed that when he learns a good Yiddish word (or a bad one), he makes sure to remember it. Watch him and Jon Stewart expound upon the benefits of a good Yiddish word below.
Jon Stewart does make a good point: clearing your throat can always stand in for actual Yiddish.
J-Connection: Jon Stewart is Jewish.
