Last night’s Olympic gold medal for an American ice dancing duo brought one more honor for the Jewish contingent.

Meryl Davis and Charlie White, who has Jewish heritage, took the top medal for the US in Sochi, America’s first gold in the event.

The pair finished with a 195.52 score, the highest ever recorded, edging out Canadian team Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, who took gold in the 2010 games.

Davis, 27, and White, 26, skated to music from “Scheherazade.” The pair have been competing together since they were young children.
