Jimmy Fallon lived out his deepest dream Thursday night, barely reigning in the fanboy as he sang two duets with Billy Joel.

“You’re one of my all-time favorites and just to even talk to you, I get a little bit nervous,” Fallon said, a bit nervously.

The due was first was joined by a voice-looping iPad app, which allowed Fallon and Joel to form their own doo-wop group and sing a halfway decent version of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.”

“Billy Joel! You are the greatest!” Fallon said when the song ended. “That was fun, buddy!”

Later, once the jitters had worn off, Fallon joined his idol for “You May Be Right,” where both men got up close and personal with a piano. The iPad app wasn’t invited.

J-Connection: Both of Billy Joel’s parents were Jewish, and he considers himself a  cultural Jew.
