Israeli forces killed a Palestinian terrorist near Ramallah Thursday, after fire broke out in an attempted arrest.

Officials were investigating near Birzeit to locate suspects in a terror cell that had been firing at IDF soldiers. The home of one suspect was surrounded, with officials requesting the individual exit the house unarmed.

When the suspect did not comply, officers entered the home and attempted to arrest the man, who was holding an AK-47 rifle.

The suspect was shot and killed at the scene.

Meanwhile, 10 other suspects were successfully arrested in Judea and Samaria. Three of the men are accused of throwing Molotov cocktails at soldiers on Wednesday.

Also this week, Amnesty International released a paper accusing the Jewish state of using unnecessary force in such procedures.

Responding to the criticism, the IDF said in a statement, “Amnesty International wholly ignores the substantial increase in Palestinian violence initiated over the past year, and shows a complete lack of understanding as to operational challenges the IDF is posed with.”
