A photo of a professor holding a baby went viral today–and that professor just happened to be from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

The concept behind the image is what captured attention on social media outlets like Facebook today. A female student was unable to find a babysitter, and thus brought her child to class. When the youngster began making a fuss, the student moved to leave the classroom.

However, the professor motioned for her to hand him the child–taking the baby in his arms, the teacher soothed the child, then continued to teach the class while still holding the little one.

The professor, who is being branded a hero, has been identified as Sydney Engelberg, 67, from Jerusalem’s Hebrew University, one of the most prestigious universities in Israel.

Sarit Fishbaine, Engelberg’s daughter, spoke to BuzzFeed and explained her father teaches many masters students and is well accustomed to having pupils that are also parents themselves.

“There’s a lot of young moms and a lot of them have babies, and he encourages them to just bring their babies to class,” she said.

“My dad just loves kids and loves babies, he has five grandchildren, so he just takes the baby,” Fishbaine told BuzzFeed News. “He’s the one that’s in motion, he’s walking around the class. So he just takes the baby and continues teaching.”
