Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Joan Rivers has been caked on the red carpet.
What does “caked” mean, you ask? It’s a word I just invented that means “having cake thrown or smushed in ones face in a way that is endlessly hilarious to others.” Thank you, universe. We needed this.
The 80-year-old comedian (who recently returned to “The Tonight Show” for the first time after being banned 25 years ago) was attending the QVC Red Carpet Style bash at the Four Seasons for a pre-Oscars party. Rivers, who regularly spews hateful vitrol about hemlines and hairdos on “Fashion Police,” got her comeuppance on the red carpet when she was caked in the face. But who was the culprit? Who hates Joan Rivers so much that they would publicly humiliate her?
The culprit: Miss Piggy.
Yes, the “Muppets” star is launching “her own” line for QVC and the cake-tossing incident was nothing more than a promotional gag. The two were filmed getting into a verbal détente that ended with Piggy shoving Rivers into a cake. Then, to add insult to injury, she tweeted, “If @Joan_Rivers can do a line on @QVC, I can do it better! How do you like them apples, Joannie!?” Talk about rubbing your face in it!
This isn’t the first time Joan Rivers has been caked. For her birthday last year, she took a cake to the face when Fergie stopped by “Fashion Police” and started a food fight.
J-Connection: Joan Rivers is Jewish.
