A statue of a “weeping” Virgin Mary is drawing tourists by the hundreds to a small town in Israel.
The statue is located in the home of a Christian family in northern Israel, in an area called Tarshiha. Osama Khoury and his wife Amira say the statue weeps oil, with Amira saying the item “spoke to her,” reports the Associated Press.
A neighbor claimed to also notice the oil, leading to increased interest. Now, hundreds are flocking to the site in pilgrimage.
In just a week, the family says it has received an estimated 2,000 visitors to their living room, in what some believers are calling a “miracle” appearance.
