News reports surfaced today that Michael Bloomberg has transferred his official website, leading some to speculate the change is an early indication that he will indeed launch an independent presidential run.
The past New York mayor and Jewish billionaire sparked speculation to that end last month, but the rising numbers behind Hillary Clinton’s campaign have quieted such talk in recent weeks. Most presumed Bloomberg would only run if Bernie Sanders wins the Democratic nomination and Donald Trump secures the Republican nod.
Now, reports are emerging the MikeBloomberg.com, which was hosted on a server run by Bloomberg LP up until February 14, is running on an independent server.
During Bloomberg’s time as mayor, he ceded control of his company, stepping back in as head once his mayoral tenure had ended.
Bloomberg’s office has yet to comment.
